Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to the LumaNest Android application by Mikael Tenshio.

LumaNest includes:

• Timeline and grid browsing for locally accessible photos and videos
• Albums, local search, favorites, and smart collections
• Storage summaries, media selection, and Android sharing
• An image viewer with zoom, metadata, and favorite or share actions
• Persistent appearance and gallery preferences stored on the device

2. No Remote Data Collection

LumaNest does not request the Android Internet permission and does not send your photos, videos, filenames, folders, searches, favorites, settings, or usage data to a developer-operated server.

The app does not require an account and does not include cloud sync, ads, analytics SDKs, or a remote backup service.

3. Local Media Access

With your permission, LumaNest reads photos, videos, and related metadata available through Android MediaStore so it can build gallery timelines, albums, search results, collections, storage summaries, and viewer screens.

• Media content URIs and stable local identifiers
• Filenames, folder or album names, MIME types, dimensions, dates, durations, and file sizes
• Locally generated thumbnails used in gallery views

LumaNest filters pending or trashed MediaStore rows and can operate with image-only, video-only, full-library, or Android selected-media access where the operating system supports those choices.

4. Permissions and Device Features

LumaNest may request the following media-read permissions, depending on Android version:

• READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - local media access on Android 12 and earlier
• READ_MEDIA_IMAGES - image access on Android 13 and later
• READ_MEDIA_VIDEO - video access on Android 13 and later
• READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED - access to media you select on supported Android versions

LumaNest does not request Internet, camera, microphone, contacts, precise location, SMS, call log, or calendar permissions for its gallery features.

5. Information Stored Locally

LumaNest stores a small amount of app state locally through Android preferences, including:

• Onboarding completion and media-access mode
• Whether videos are included and whether compact grid density is enabled
• Dark or light theme preference
• Media identifiers for items you mark as favorites

This local state is used only to provide app features and is not transmitted to the developer.

6. Sharing and External Apps

When you choose to share media or open an item in another compatible app, Android sends the selected content to the destination you choose. That destination handles the content under its own terms and privacy policy.

LumaNest does not automatically upload or back up your media. Device manufacturers, gallery providers, backup services, and other apps may separately process files according to your device settings.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your photos and videos remain in device-managed storage until you change or delete them through Android or another app with the appropriate access.

LumaNest preferences and favorites remain until you change them, clear the app storage, or uninstall LumaNest. Android backup is disabled for the app, so the developer cannot restore deleted local state or media.

8. Children's Privacy

LumaNest is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-managed account or server.
