Privacy Policy
LumiSignal is a local Android torch, screen light, and visual signal utility. It stores preferences on your device and works without ads, analytics, tracking, advertising ID, developer cloud services, or Internet permission.
event_notePrivacy Policy effective date: July 11, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to the LumiSignal Android application developed by Mikael Tenshio.
LumiSignal provides flashlight, screen light, SOS, beacon, strobe, widget, Quick Settings tile, shortcut, notification, haptic, and safety-warning features on the device.
2. Information Stored Locally
LumiSignal stores app settings locally on your device. This may include:
- Onboarding and safety acknowledgement state
- Default brightness, default auto-off, selected theme, color presets, signal timing, haptic setting, keep-active preference, and warning preferences
- Widget, Quick Settings, notification, and shortcut state needed to control active light sessions
These settings are used to provide app behavior on the same device and are not sent to the developer.
3. No Remote Data Collection
LumiSignal does not request Android Internet permission and does not use a developer account system, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, crash-reporting SDK, tracking SDK, advertising ID permission, cloud database, or cloud-sync service.
The app is not designed to collect usage analytics, device identifiers, lighting history, personal profiles, or advertising identifiers for the developer.
4. Permissions and Device Features
LumiSignal may request or use these Android permissions and features:
- CAMERA - required by Android to control the LED flashlight on many devices; LumiSignal does not capture photos or videos for its torch feature
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS - used on supported Android versions to show an active-light notification and controls
- VIBRATE - used for optional haptic feedback during controls and signal interactions
- android.hardware.camera.flash - declared as optional so devices without an LED flash can still use screen-light features
- BIND_QUICK_SETTINGS_TILE - used by the Android system for the LumiSignal Quick Settings tile service
LumiSignal does not request Internet, contacts, precise location, microphone, photos, videos, broad file access, SMS, call log, calendar, or advertising ID permissions.
5. Light, Brightness, and Device Behavior
LumiSignal controls device light features through Android platform APIs. It may change the flashlight state, keep the screen active during a light session, temporarily adjust screen brightness for screen-light mode, and display active-state notifications or widgets.
Hardware behavior, battery usage, heat, torch availability, notification behavior, widget refreshes, and Quick Settings tile behavior depend on your device model, Android version, system settings, and manufacturer limits.
6. Safety and Photosensitivity
Bright lights, flashing patterns, strobe effects, and SOS-style signals may be uncomfortable or unsafe for some people, including people with photosensitivity. Use these features carefully and stop using them if discomfort occurs.
LumiSignal includes warnings and auto-stop options, but you remain responsible for safe use around people, animals, vehicles, public spaces, batteries, screens, and device heat.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
LumiSignal settings remain on your device until you change them, reset app data, clear app storage, or uninstall the app.
Android system backup or device-transfer behavior may depend on your device settings and operating-system configuration. The developer does not operate a cloud backup or restore service for LumiSignal settings.
8. Children's Privacy
LumiSignal is a general utility and is not directed to collecting information from children. The app does not require registration or remote submission of personal information.
If children use the device, the device owner is responsible for supervising flashlight, strobe, brightness, signal, and notification behavior.
9. Changes and Contact
This Privacy Policy may be updated when LumiSignal changes features, permissions, data handling, or legal requirements. The latest version will be made available on this page.
