Privacy Policy

Terms and Usage
Scanora is a QR scanner and generator for live camera scanning, optional image-based scanning through the system picker, local scan history, and quick result actions such as opening links or launching supported apps.
Introduction

This Privacy Policy applies to the Scanora mobile application ("Application"), developed by Mikael Tenshio.

The Application is provided "AS IS" and includes:

  • Live QR scanning using the camera while the user is actively scanning
  • Optional QR scanning from a single image selected through the system picker
  • QR code generation for text, URL, email, phone, SMS, Wi-Fi, contact, and location
  • Local scan history stored on the device
  • Result actions such as opening links, browser pages, dialer, email, SMS, or maps

Scanora is designed as a local-first QR utility and does not use a custom app-operated backend for scan history or generated QR content. The Android app includes Firebase Analytics, so limited technical and usage information may be processed by Google services.

Data Collection

Data stored locally on your device may include:

  • Scanned QR content
  • Timestamps associated with scan history
  • Generated QR content you choose to keep in local app state or history

Technical or analytics data may include:

  • App instance and usage events collected through Firebase Analytics
  • Device model, operating system version, app version, and diagnostics
  • General app performance and reliability information

Scan contents are stored locally on the device and are not sent to a custom developer-owned server by the app itself. Third-party analytics behavior is governed by the provider's own systems and policies.

Data Retention

Local scan history remains on your device until you clear it inside the Application, clear the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstall the Application.

Analytics and technical data collected by Firebase Analytics may be retained according to Google's retention and processing policies.

Third-Party Services

Scanora currently includes the following third-party service in the Android app:

  • Firebase Analytics - technical analytics, diagnostics, and app usage measurement

Where enabled, this service may process technical and usage-related information through Google services. You should review Google's privacy terms for more detail on how that data is handled.

Permissions Used
  • Camera - used for foreground-only live QR scanning and requested at runtime when needed
  • Internet - declared in the Android app and consistent with Firebase Analytics integration

Scanora does not declare broad storage or media permissions for gallery scanning. Instead, the app uses the Android system document picker so you can select a single image explicitly.

The app does not declare microphone, contacts, location, SMS, call log, calendar, or background location permissions in the Android app.

Data Deletion

Because Scanora does not require a user account, there is no account profile to delete on a custom app server.

  • Local app data: You can remove scan history and other locally stored app data by clearing the app's storage in Android settings or uninstalling the app.
  • Analytics-related requests: If you want to ask about analytics or diagnostics data associated with the app, contact us at help.tenshioapps@gmail.com.

Children's Privacy

Scanora is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
