Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

SoundMax is an Android audio utility developed by Mikael Tenshio. This Privacy Policy explains how SoundMax handles information when users use audio enhancement, local player, speaker test, stereo test, frequency test, microphone test, Clean Speaker, settings, and related app screens.

SoundMax is designed around local device use. The app does not require an account and does not send selected audio files, microphone test audio, settings, or listening queue data to developer-operated servers.

2. Information Stored Locally

SoundMax stores certain app preferences locally on the device so the app can reopen with the choices the user made. This may include:

• Loudness level, auto-protect choice, bass enhancement level, equalizer band values, selected preset, and loudness enhancer setting
• Playback speed, repeat setting, selected audio item, local queue references, test volume, test frequency, Clean Speaker pulse mode, and microphone test duration
• Theme mode, dynamic color preference, onboarding completion, pause-on-output-change choice, keep-awake preference during tests, and microphone permission prompt state

This local data is used to provide SoundMax's features on the same device. SoundMax does not upload these preferences to the developer.

3. Local Audio Files and Metadata

When users add audio files to the player, SoundMax uses Android file access to open the selected files. The app may keep local references to selected files so the queue can remain available after restart.

SoundMax may read basic metadata from selected audio files, such as title and duration, to display the queue and playback screen. SoundMax does not copy the audio library to a developer cloud service and does not upload selected audio files.

If Android no longer allows SoundMax to reopen a selected file, the app removes or ignores the stale queue entry. This helps avoid keeping broken references longer than needed.

4. Microphone Access

The app may request microphone permission only for the Microphone Test feature. That feature measures live input level during the selected test duration so users can check whether the microphone is receiving sound.

Microphone input is analyzed in memory during the active test. SoundMax does not save microphone recordings, create audio files from the test, upload microphone audio, or keep captured samples after the test ends or the user leaves the screen.

Users can deny microphone permission and continue using other SoundMax features. Speaker, stereo, frequency, local playback, equalizer, and Clean Speaker tools do not require microphone access.

5. Permissions and Device Features

The Android app may request or use these permissions and device features:

• MODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS - used to support audio behavior and enhancement controls related to playback inside SoundMax
• RECORD_AUDIO - used only when you start the Microphone test
• Optional microphone hardware - SoundMax can install on devices without requiring a microphone, but the Microphone Test feature needs one to work
• Android audio output and audio focus - used for local playback, generated tones, route changes, and safe pause or stop behavior
• Android document/file access - used when you choose local audio files for playback

SoundMax does not request camera, contacts, precise location, SMS, call log, calendar, photos/videos library scanning, advertising ID, or Internet permissions.

6. No Remote Collection, Ads, or Analytics

SoundMax does not declare Internet permission in the Android manifest. The app is not designed to contact a developer server for accounts, cloud sync, analytics, advertising, tracking, crash reporting, or remote audio storage.

Because SoundMax does not have Internet permission, the app cannot send local queue data, selected tracks, microphone test activity, device audio settings, or app preferences to the developer through its own network connection.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

SoundMax keeps local settings and queue references on the device until the user changes them, clears app storage, removes individual queue items where available, or uninstalls the app.

The Android app is configured with app backup disabled, so SoundMax does not intentionally include local app data in Android backup flows. Device manufacturers, operating systems, and manual backups may still have their own behavior outside the app's direct control.

Because SoundMax does not operate a developer account system or cloud profile, there is no separate SoundMax online account for the user to delete.

8. Children's Privacy, Changes, and Contact

SoundMax is a general audio utility and is not directed to collecting personal information from children. The app does not require registration or remote submission of personal information.

This Privacy Policy may be updated when SoundMax's features, permissions, platform requirements, or legal obligations change.
