description About This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use VertiPlay. In this policy, “VertiPlay,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the VertiPlay mobile application and its developer, Mikael Tenshio.
VertiPlay is a playlist player. We let you import an M3U or M3U8 file from your device or add a playlist URL, then browse and play the channels contained in that playlist. We do not operate an IPTV service and we do not provide channels, subscriptions, credentials, hosted playlists, or streaming content.
database Information We Keep on Your Device
We store the information needed to make VertiPlay work primarily on your device. This may include playlist names and source references, playlist URLs you add, parsed channel names and groups, channel-logo and stream URLs, favorites, recently watched channels, your last-played channel, and app preferences such as theme and playback settings.
For remote playlists, we may keep a local copy of parsed playlist information so the playlist can reopen more quickly. We do not upload this local app state to a Tenshio account or developer-operated cloud database.
A playlist URL can sometimes contain a username, token, key, or other credential. If your provider uses credentials inside a URL, treat that URL as sensitive information and do not share it with people you do not trust.
playlist_play Playlist Files, URLs, and Streams
When you choose a local playlist, we use Android's system file picker to access the file you selected. We do not need broad access to all files on your device for this feature. The original playlist file remains in the storage location you chose and is not owned or hosted by VertiPlay.
When you add a remote playlist or play a channel, your device connects directly to the playlist, logo, or stream address contained in your source. We do not proxy those requests through a Tenshio streaming server. The third-party host may receive information that is ordinarily transmitted with an internet connection, such as your IP address, and may keep its own server logs under its own privacy practices.
We support user-provided network sources. If a source uses unencrypted HTTP instead of HTTPS, the connection may not be encrypted in transit. We do not control the security, availability, or privacy practices of playlist providers, stream hosts, logo hosts, or other third-party servers you choose to contact through VertiPlay.
analytics Information We Do Not Collect
VertiPlay does not currently include a Tenshio analytics service, advertising SDK, crash-reporting SDK, user account system, or developer-operated tracking server. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your playlist activity for behavioral advertising.
Google Play, Android, your device manufacturer, your internet provider, and the external services you choose to connect to may process information independently of us. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.
data_exploration Permissions and Device Features
We request only the Android capabilities needed for VertiPlay's playback features:
- Internet — to load remote playlists, channel logos, and streams that you choose.
- Network state — to respond appropriately when network playback is unavailable.
- Wake lock — to help maintain playback when appropriate.
- Foreground service / media playback — to support background playback and Android media controls.
We do not require camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, call-log, or precise-location permission for VertiPlay's core functionality.
delete Retention, Deletion, and Android Backup
We keep local app data for as long as it remains useful to your VertiPlay setup. You can remove playlists from VertiPlay, clear recent activity where the app provides that option, reset app settings, clear VertiPlay's storage through Android settings, or uninstall the app.
Removing VertiPlay does not delete the original playlist files you selected from storage outside the app. Those files remain under the control of the storage provider or location where you saved them.
VertiPlay currently participates in Android's backup and device-transfer features. Depending on your device, Android version, Google account, manufacturer, and backup settings, eligible local VertiPlay data may be backed up or transferred by the operating system and may later be restored. We do not operate that backup service and we do not receive or have access to your Android backup.
child_care Children's Privacy
VertiPlay is not designed or directed specifically to children under 13. We do not provide account registration and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated account, analytics, or advertising service.
mail Changes and Contact
We may update this Privacy Policy when VertiPlay's features, permissions, third-party integrations, or data-handling practices change. When we make a material update, we will revise the effective date shown on this page.
If you have a privacy question about VertiPlay, contact us at help.tenshioapps@gmail.com.
